It was learned that more than 30 cadres and staffs of Panjiang Reservoir Control Station started the renovation work of the reservoir on December 2, 2013. The renovation work was focused on desludging, repairing, protection of canals, etc.

It was introduced that two main canals of 1.9kms high culvert canal and 3.3kms low culvert canal, and four trunks and 29 branches with total length of 82.7kms are for Panjiang reservoir. This reservoir is the key irrigation resource for the 75000 mu fields in the downstream. Due to the serious drought, the control station carried out winter water conservancy work earlier than last years, and tried best to collect 0.3 million yuan to renovate the reservoir in the beginning of this November. Some favorable policies and innovative ways were implemented by the control station to promote the renovation work of the reservoir. Till now, more than 30kms desludging work has been finished for the reservoir, which would be helpful for spring plowing of 2014.
