When reporters arrived at the construction site of Chenzhou garbage power project, workers were busy with the construction work of offices, dormitories, garbage pits, and etc.
It was introduced by the principal of this project- Li Shuguang that this garbage power project was about to be connected to the grid next October, and the environment condition of this project area would be kept the same after the project was placed to operation.

Chenzhou urban garbage power project is located in Matouling town, Suxian district, which uses garbage to generate power with the targets of solid waste reduction, recycling, and bio-safety disposal. This project covers 53,275 square meters area with 440 million yuan investment. It was divided to be constructed with two phases, once the first one finished, it would be with the capacity to dispose household garbage of 700tons per day and generate 90 million kwh power every year. It was introduced that the flue gas emission of this project will follow EU2000 emission standard. As of the end of this October, 219.70 million yuan has been placed on the project, covering 49.93%. Some of the preliminary work has been fulfilled yet.

Many villagers fought against to launch such kind of garbage power project near their houses for they were afraid both their health condition and local environment condition would be affected by it.

Li explained to the reporters that though current garbage power technology was well-developed, few people were aware of it. Some of the cadres of the town were with the same questions and concerns as the villagers. In order to make local people well-learned about the garbage power technology, the principals of this project lead an investigation team of the villagers to visit Fuzhou and check some garbage power stations there.

All team members were surprised to find that Fuzhou garbage power station is located in the central urban area. It was amazed to find the environment condition of the power station was as good as the park. The team members were taught with the knowledge how did the garbage power project work and how did it control the emission of harmful gas to protect the environment. After this investigation trip, all villagers there felt free to support the development of this garbage power project.
