How about the situation of 2013?

Farmers’income would be kept increasing in 2013

The foundation for farmers’ income is the agricultural production. It was estimated by relative departments that total yield of grain was amounted to 1.94 million tons with an increase of per unit yield of 4%. Sown areas of vegetables (including edible fungus, melon fruit and fodder vegetables) was about 1.5 million mu with total yield of 2.60 million tons and total value of 4.6 billion yuan, up 3.44%, 8.33 %, and 2.22% separately. Leisure agriculture was a new way for farmers’ increase of income. More leisure agriculture projects were opened to public and some new ones were launched as well. Guiyang Jiuzhuyuan Organic Farm amd Yongxing Shanshuiyindu were approved as national five-star farms successfully. Guiyang county and Xiaobu Ecological Park of Beihu district were submitted to be established as national demonstration county of leisure agriculture and national demonstration area of leisure agriculture respectively. Till now, one national demonstration county, two national demonstration areas, two national five-star farms, three national four-star farms, 15 Hunan provincial five-star farms, 14 Hunan provincial four-star farms and 26 Hunan provincial three-star farms were available in Chenzhou city. It was estimated that total leisure agriculture output value would hit 2.6 billion yuan with an increase of 30%.

Zhu Xiaodang concluded that generally speaking, the traditional channels of farmers’s income were with sound performances and new channel was with unexpected good effect. So, farmers’ income of 2013 would be kept increasing, but final figures should be released after detailed calculation.

More attention should be paid on prevent market risks and natural risks

As a weak industry, agriculture would be greatly affected by market risks and natural risks. Due to the decrease price of pig and chicken, total amount of poultry was just 16.89 million pieces with a decrease of 14.69% in the first half year of 2013. At the meantime, Shunhua Duck Group’s sales was affected as well. All those made bad influence for farmers.

Furthermore, bad weather of the first quarter and drought caused some loss for farmers as well.
