It was learned from the tobacco production meeting of Guiyang county that 2014 basic tobacco land consolidation project has been reviews by Hunan Provincial Tobacco Bureau. According to the project, 78.16 million yuan would be placed by the bureau for 31,200 mu basic tobacco land consolidation on three production bases of Zhenghe town, Ao’quan town and Liufeng town.

Though suffered from the hailstorm and drought in 2013, Guiyang county was still with great improvement on the tobacco industry. Total tobacco plantation area was amounted to 0.221 million mu. 0.608 million loads of tobacco leaves were purchased accordingly, accounting for 802 million yuan value and 161.45 million yuan tax payment. It was a new record for Guiyang county’s tobacco industry.

It was learned that followed with the promotion of production bases construction, land consolidation, water source construction, mechanization of tobacco production, etc., Guiyang county’s modern tobacco agricultural construction was upgraded comprehensively. 220 million yuan was placed on the 223 projects of tobacco industry in 2013 in Guiyang county, ranking the first place on Hunan provincial evaluation of the supporting project construction on water and tobacco industry. 9726mu land consolidation has been finished in Haotang town, covering 1/4 of the amount of whole Hunan province. For further upgrading of tobacco industry, Guiyang county carried out optimization and integration of tobacco cooperatives and facilitated them with machines and subsides.

Currently, Taoyuan reservoir project which was covered with 420 million yuan investment was promoted forcefully in Guiyang county. Once finished, 0.1034 million mu tobacco lands of 10 villages and towns would be benefited from its irrigation.
