It was learned from the National Development and Reform Commission that Zixing city was enrolled into the final list of national circular economy demonstration city.
In recent years, on the basis of its features of environment resources and local economy, Zixing city focused on the targets to establish “eco-Zixing”, “recycling Zixing”, “low-carbon Zixing”and issued some relative plans, policies and development mechanisms to handle out some work forcefully. Such as saving and utilization of resources and energies, elimination of backward production conservation of resources, facilitation of new environment protection infrastructures, improvement of ecological environment condition, and etc., all those greatly helped to promote Zixing city’s development of circular economy.

Till now, Zixing city has formed some recycling economy development models, such as “non-ferrous metal mining- beneficiation - smelting - recycling - disposal”, “coal - electricity - waste utilization”, “agricultural resources - agricultural products - renewable resources - processing products”, etc. Especially for the work concerned of Dongjiang Lake, Zixing city paid special attention on its protection and utilization. Focusing on “water recycling”, a unique “water city” recycling economy development model was formed in Zixing city, which covered first industry, secondary industry, tertiary industry and all social aspects, covered zero discharding of wastewater and comprehensive utilization of water resources, and covered ecological system, social system and urban system.

Along with the development of recycling economy, Zixing city obtained great achievements on energy saving, comprehensive utilization of resources, implementation of cleaner production, continuous decreasing of major pollutants, development of water resources and ecological resources, transformation of resource-exhausted city economy, etc. Due to all those gorgeous results, Zixing city was successfully enrolled into the list of Hunan provincial pilot parks of circulation transformation of industrial park and the list of Hunan provincial recycling economy demonstration cities as well.
