Chenzhou railway port was opened to public

It was reported that Chenzhou railway port in Huaishuxia, Beihu district, Chenzhou city was opened to public on December 26, 2013. It indicated that Chenzhou city became one of the“dry ports” of China. All the products made in Chenzhou city can be delivered to the sea ports for exportation directly after loading in container and handling custom clearance, inspection and quarantine in Chenzhou city. Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee announced its opening in the ceremony.

Xu Shuangrong- Director of Hunan Provincial Port Office, Xiong Songhai- Deputy Director of Changsha Customs, Xie Jianjun- Deputy Director of Hunan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Zhou Lianwu- Chief Operating Officer of Guangzhou Railway Group, and Cheng Jinsong- Deputy Director of Shenzhen Yantian Economic Promotion Bureau attended the ceremony.

Chenzhou railway logistics center- railway port was with 520 million yuan investment, covering 1500mu areas. It was designed to deliver 6 million tons cargos annually, including 0.1 million standard containers. This port is the largest modern logistic platform with advanced functions of Hunan province and also the largest railway port of Hunan province. On its opening, Chenzhou railway is capable to handle the international containers businesses, which is helpful for Chenzhou’s communication with international economic system and also helpful to promote Chenzhou city’s development of undertaking industrial transfer and opening economy and construction of international modern Chenzhou city with the decreasing logistic cost.

Chenzhou railway port project was launched in March, 2010 and was approved by Hunan Government to be opened to public in this June. The special container railway line, station yard, exit, and special supervision areas of the railway port have been finished on the second phase of this project. The special supervision areas were about 20,788 square meters with the investment of 50 million yuan. 3400 square meters of the supervision warehouse, 528 square meters inspection platforms, 70 square meters fumigation processing areas, 919 square meters offices and some other facilities as electronic entry-exit guard, supervision information-based system, quarantine nets, etc. have been finished yet.

It was stated by the principal of the port that further promotion of the construction of international logistic center and service system of Chenzhou port and further upgrading of the functions of export processing, international express, highway port, railway port, etc. would be kept undertaken by them. It was purposely to accelerate the speed to integrate into the rapid cross-board clearance system of Guangdong province and achieve the function expansion of sea ports and harbors to Chenzhou city.

Liao Yuegui- Member of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee, Minister of Organization Department and Minister of United Front Work Department addressed a speech in the opening ceremony. Zhang Xihui- Deputy Mayor of Chenzhou City hosted the ceremony.
