It was reported that a leading group conference for Chenzhou transportation construction was held in Chenzhou city on Feb. 18, 2014. Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee stated that more attention should be paid on the transportation construction with unified idea and specified responsibility system to ensure its fulfillment. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City hosted the conference.

Chenzhou city reached great achievements on transportation construction in 2013- a crucial year for its construction issues with 14.126 billion yuan investment, ranking first place of Hunan province. The “top issue”- Chenyong avenue was opened to public with high standard, highways construction was placed on top place of Hunan province and it won the first title on Hunan provincial transportation comprehensive target management assessment and rural road construction.

Xiang highly affirmed the work handled out on transportation construction and stated that a half-an-hour economic circle has been preliminarily formed in Chenzhou city’s core economic zone and all counties were facilitated with expressway during the construction campaigns. As the last year for the transportation construction project, all departments should fight best to fulfill all targets set for the project in 2014.

Xiang emphasized that five changes should be reached for Chenzhou city’s transportation condition on the process of further promotion of construction: first, Chenzhou city should be changed from a traffic node to be a comprehensive transport hub city with more convenient traffic condition on expressways and railways; second, Chenzhou city should be changed from one-way traffic to be integrated three-dimensional traffic; third, Chenzhou city should be changed from multi-level management to be comprehensive management with specified responsibility system and more efficient service; forth, Chenzhou city should be changed from urban-oriented construction to rural-oriented construction to upgrade the rural area’s transportation condition; and fifth, Chenzhou city should be changed from concentrated assault -type investment to regular investment.

Qu Hai pointed out that all departments should fight best to conquer the difficulties hindered on the way of further development and ensure all targets set for three-year transportation construction project to be finished on time. More efforts should be tried on the construction of transportation hub city with better work on expressways and railways projects. More attention should be placed on well-being projects as greening work, public buses, taxies, rural highways construction, environmental protection, etc. to upgrade people’s living condition. Enhanced work should be carried out on the quality control issue to grant a safe transportation condition to people. Furthermore, more efficient and innovative way should be figured out to assist the improvement of transportation construction and optimize the construction condition.
