It was reported that a wind power project of Linwu county was approved by National Energy Administration as one of its forth batch of“twelfth five-year plan”wind power projects. This 49,900 kilowatts installed capacity project was the eighth wind projects approved in Linwu county, which would help to play more positive effect on Linwu county’s ecological energy construction.

Due to the effect of both north and south flow, good wind condition can be formed in the mountains and hills in Linwu county, which enabled it to be the area with best wind resources in Hunan province. According to the data, 1800-2400hours advanced wind resources of 6m/s and above were well used by Linwu county annually with an installed capacity for 694,000 kilowatts, ranking the top place of Hunan province. In order to promote the development of wind resources with good effect, series agreements concerned for wind power development were signed with China Resources, Xiangdian Group Co., Ltd., CNFC, and some other famous groups. Followed with “Linwu wind resource development plan”, all signed projects were promoted well. Sanshiliuwan wind power plant undertaken by Xiangdian Group covered with 502 million yuan investment and generated electricity on November 3, 2012. Till now 151million kilowatt-hour electricity has been generated by this plant. Luhe Jinfeng wind power plant undertaken by Xiangdian Group covered with 450 million yuan investment and placed to operation on December 25, 2011. Till now, 200million kilowatt-hour electricity has been generated by this plant. Lanqiao wind power plant undertaken by China Resources covered with 400 million yuan investment and generated electricity on February 5, 2014. It was estimated to be with an installed capacity of 48,000 kilowatts. Till now, 48million kilowatt-hour electricity has been generated by this plant. The total electricity generated by all the plants was up to 400million kilowatt-hour in Linwu county, which helped to save 184,000tons of coal mines, decrease 401,500tons of carbon emission and pay for over 20million yuan tax payment. 

Three more wind power projects undertaken by Xiangdian Group and China Resources were being promoted well under time schedule in Linwu county currently.
