It was learned from peer review meeting for “development planning of Chenzhou LED industry”(2014-2020) that Chenzhou city would fight for promoting the LED industry to be one-hundred-billion-yuan industry in 2020.

LED is semiconductor element transferring electricity to light, which is the most advanced lighting technology of the world with the advantages of high luminous efficiency, environmental protection, long shelf life, small size, easy maintenance operation, and etc.

As one of the pilot cities for second batch of national “ten cities- ten thousand lights” application project, Chenzhou city’s LED companies mainly settled down in Chenzhou Export Processing Zone, such as Hualei Photoelectricity, Delta Electronics, Phillips Lighting, Changqi New Energy, and etc. According to the data, the total semiconductor lighting industry of Chenzhou city hit 2.1 billion yuan in 2013 with an increase of 30%, which was with the fastest increase speed among other industries.

Chenzhou city is the south gate of Hunan province, where is near the Pearl River Delta. That’s why it became the front field of Hunan undertaking industrial transfer and the first choice for the costal LED enterprises which want to develop their inland market. According to the plan, more efforts would be tried to attract investment and promote undertaking industrial transfer to attract more LED leading companied to settle down in Chenzhou city and form a complete industrial chain of LED industry. It planned to improve Chenzhou city as the first class LED production base of China even the world and upgrade Chenzhou city’s LED industry to be one-hundred-billion-yuan industry cluster. It was purposely to improve LED industry as one of the mainstay industries of Chenzhou city’s economic development.
