When reporters arrived at Fangyuan town, Guiyang county, one of the farmers showed their fresh lotus roots to them. It was introduced that a lotus root professional cooperative was established in 2011 in the town, which helped to mobilize more than 20 families to start their businesses in their home town. Till now, the plantation area for lotus roots was over 1000mu with an annual output volume of more than 3000tons.
