It was learned from Changsha Customs, Chenzhou Office that the total volume of processing trade of Chenzhou city hit 4.28billion yuan with an increase of 20.45 in first five months of 2014, taking the first place of Changsha city which was just 4.19 billion yuan
According to the data, from January to May, the total volume of foreign trade of Chenzhou city was amounted to 6.54billion yuan, up 10.8%, ranking the second place of Hunan province (Changsha city won the first place). 3.19billion yuan and 3.35billion yuan of it were for exportation and importation with increases of 24.7% and 0.2% respectively. This trade surplus of about 200million yuan indicated that Chenzhou city was in a favorable place on foreign trade businesses.
Lead concentrate, silver concentrate, rhodium, jade and gold were the key import products with an amount of 2.64billion yuan, covering 82.8% of the total import amount. Silver, rhodium oxide, gold jewelry, refined led, and full color satellite TV receiver were the key export products with an amount of 2.43billion yuan, covering 72.5% of the total export amount. 710million yuan was for the export of mechanical and electrical products, such as full color satellite TV receive, phone accessories, inductor, connecting line with adapter, transformer, and etc.
South America and South Arica were the two main source markets, especially for lead concentrate, silver concentrate, gold and some other resources products. 1.01billion yuan and 950million yuan import trades were reached for the two markets respectively from January to May. Hong Kong was the main exportation destination that 2.61billion yuan products were delivered there, while 150million yuan, 121million and 110million yuan products were shipped to ASEAN, EU and Taiwan.
As analyzed on the report issued by the customs, 34.1% of the foreign trade items were for precious metal processing, accounting for 52.1% of the total volume of processing trade. Besides silver and gold, some new precious metals as rhodium oxide, gold inlaid with jade, and etc. were handled in Chenzhou city now, which indicated that Chenzhou city’s non-ferrous industry was on the process to transform simplification to diversification by handling the upgrading work.
