When reporters arrived at Jiahe Fuda Vegetable Professional Cooperative, some workers were busy in loading the 1.85tons organic vegetables to the truck which was about to drive to a food company of Guangzhou city. It was introduced by the principal of the professional cooperative that currently one loading truck was sent to Guangzhou city every two days.

Sharen village, Zhuquan town of Jiahe county is a traditional vegetable planting village for over hundreds years history. But the harvest of vegetables mainly depended on the weather in earlier stage. Jiahe Fuda Vegetable Professional Cooperative was established by local farmers to change this situation. Unified purchasing of seeds, cultivation, technical guidance, and etc. were handled in the cooperative to cultivate the organic vegetables suitable for market. Currently, 315 professional vegetable planting families from different villages were attracted to join in this cooperative, covering over 1800mu areas, which was strong enough to resist the market risk.

Along with the improvement of the cooperative’s scale, the cooperative placed attention to connect with some food companies in Guangzhou city and reached some regular supplying agreements with them to serve their vegetables for Guangzhou people. Because of this active action, not only the farmers’ income was increased, but their enthusiasm on plantation was mobilized greatly as well. According to the static, over 160 professional vegetable planting families with 5mu or more planting areas have increased in the county from 2010. As said by Liao Zemin- one of the farmers of the village that because of lacking marketing idea and method, they used to throw away the good vegetables which can’t eat up on time, but now thanks to the cooperative, they can sell the surplus vegetables to the cooperative with higher price easily.
