It was introduced that “2014 summer reproduction and releasing activity for Dongjiang Lake fishery” was carried in Zixing city from June 17 to 19, 2014. Over 10million fingerlings of bighead carp, grass carp, chub, Xenocypris davidi, and etc. were put into some water areas of Dongjiang Lake as Bailang, Xingning, Qingjiang, Dongjiang, and etc. It was purposely to purify the water quality of Dongjiang Lake and supplement the fishery resources of the lake.

It was introduced that 5million yuan would be placed by Zixing city to handle the reproduction and releasing and protection of fishery resources of Chenzhou city. Regular fingerlings releasing and silverfish oosperm releasing would be handled out by 4 batches in the four seasons respectively. Over 50million silver fish oosperms and 14million regular fingerlings would be put into the lake. Till now, silver fish oosperms releasing work and spring fingerlings releasing work have been finished. In order to ensure the quality, quantity and specification of the fish, a special assessment group was formed by some representatives from different departments of the water areas to handle the supervision work.

This kind of activity not only effectively protected Dongjiang lake’s water resources, ecological environment, and fishery industry’s development, but helped to improve local economic and social development as well.
