It was early autumn, but the afterheat weather still lingered in Chenzhou city. Some live working staffs who wear the yellow shielding clothes were fighting for removing risks under sunshine. The passersby were surprised to find that someone were working on the 10-meter high wires in this hot season, but the high temperature pushed them run away sooner without stop.
As you can see from above image, some live working staffs from power distribution and operation office of Chenzhou Power Supply Company of the State Grid were changing the lead connectors for 10 kilovolt Longdong wire under the 35℃ high temperature. It was purposely to minimize the influence of power cut-off, so they handled it with live working.
“It was detected that the temperature of the fixture wires was up to 150℃ which would badly affect 2000 families, Chenzhou Agriculture Bureau and some other units’ electricity supply” said by Ju Zili- the principal of the power distribution and operation office, “but Longdong line is one of the important wires for Chenzhou central urban area, if we cut-off the line to repair, over 7000 families of Chenzhou Qingnian Avenue would be without power during this repairing period. So we decided to handle it with live working which was much harder but was worthy to try for the people.”
It was introduced that that was the 385th time of live working handled out by the company in 2014. 43,700 families were benefited from this live working. 1.54 hour/family’s power cut-off time was deduced accordingly.
