It was reported that a coordination conference for promotion of Chenzhou city’s literature and history work was held in Chenzhou city on October 20, 2014. As required on the conference, the resource advantages of culture heritage should be transformed to the economic advantage with the concept of protection and utilization, which was purposely to become a new growth for Chenzhou city’s economic development.

In recent year, Chenzhou city took active actions on exploring productive protection measures for the development and utilization of intangible cultural heritage and developed series cultural products and services with folk-custom and ethnic features by reasonable utilization of intangible cultural heritage projects, such as Yi Emperor’s Mausoleum, former site of Xiangnan Intifada, ancient ancestral hall of Rucheng county, Banliang ancient dwelling, Shizhuyuan, Baoshan, and etc. Chenzhou city was fighting for upgrading cultural tourism as a new highlight of the development of Chenzhou city’s culture industry.

Principals of relative sub-ordinate departments of Chenzhou city delivered their speeches on how to improve Chenzhou city to be a “strong culture city”. Li Ting- Deputy Mayor of Chenzhou City stated that all departments should reach the unified awareness to improve the protection of historic preservation and study of literature and history of Chenzhou city; should work together to enhance the protection work; and should enhance the leadership to upgrade the protection and utilization level.
