It was reported that an economic cooperation fair was held together by Jiangsu province of China and Ontario Province of Canada from Oct. 26-28, 2014. Zixing city from Chenzhou city, Hunan province and Canada Menergy Cooperation signed a framework agreement on forging low carbon demonstration project, which was purposely to forge the first air conditioner external units free city of China.

It was introduced that the project was to provide concentrated cooling, heating and domestic hot water for urban Zixing area by the low temperature natural water of Dongjiang lake and excess heat of thermal power plants. Currently, the water storage capacity of Dongjiang lake which is in Zixing city’s area is 8.12billion cubic meters. The water reservoir’s perennial water temperatures of bottom, middle-level and top are 4℃, 8℃, and 8℃respectively. In the range of 14kms of the downstream of the water reservoir, its water temperature is lower than 12℃ which is natural cold source. Moreover, there are two power plants and one coking plant available in Zixing city, all of which are with huge amount of excess heats helpful for operating the project.
