As you can see from above image, some villagers were picking up the lotus roots in the Wang Fei Saussurea & Lotus Root Planting Base in Zhenghe town of Guiyang county. The base which is with 1200mu planting areas and annual output value of 12million yuan is the largest high quality saussurea planting base in South China. More than 300 families near there were becoming wealthy along with the improvement of the base. Now it is the harvest season of lotus root. In order to meet the marketing demands, all the collection work is being operated by machine in the base, which greatly helps to upgrade the working efficiency.
