It was reported that two new hot-line work technologies, changing isolating switch and setting pole with charged electricity, were available for Chenzhou Power Supply Company of the State Grid. The company handled these two technologies from November 26-27, 2015 “without cutting off the power”, which greatly helped to upgrade the stability of power supply.

On November 26, 2015, the staffs of Chenzhou Power Supply Company introduced by-pass circuits to change the isolating switches on the sides of breakers for the first time, which helped to operate troubleshooting of the power grid “without cutting off the power”. Four “armed” hot-line work staffs were divided into 2 groups after confirming the construction site and safety facilities by the principal. They stood in two insulation boom type aerials respectively and handled the procedures as insulation protection, shield, and packing for the 10-KV circuits step by step to ensure no contact with the live circuits. Then, assisted with the ground service staffs, they operated the parallel connection with bypass circuits, debugged and tested their performances, pulled the breaker, and dismantled and changed new insulating switches rapidly. 8 hours later, all work was completed well.

In the following day, the hot-line work staffs set poles with charged electricity between No.6 –No.7 pole for 10-KV village circuit and 10-KV main circuit (double-circuit pole). Generally speaking, if setting poles by cutting off the power, both the two circuits need to be cut which would badly affect production and household electricity supply covered in the range.

All the staffs coordinated with each other with specified job, which guaranteed the hot-line work to be fulfilled safely and efficiently. The principal of the work was in charge of checking the safety facilities and preparation work in advance; the staffs in the boom type aerial set insulation packing for the wires potential to touch the new poles; the boom type aerial and crane were operated to lift the concrete pole covered with insulation carpet on top within the protection range of insulation wires, and then the ground service staffs put it on the right hole; and finally all air service staffs and ground service staffs worked together to handle rest work as poling, wire installation, pole arms installation and wires fixation.

It was introduced that these two hot-line work are third-class work which needs high technology and faces great operation difficulties. Those two successful hot-line works indicated that Chenzhou Power Supply Company is with breakthroughs on the hot-line work and is capable to handle the complex hot-line work independently. At the meantime, it tries best to provide stable power supply to the users by applying new technologies, which helps to upgrade its company image.
