Convenient Channel for Delivery of Agricultural Products

“You must remember the beautiful sceneries of the year, especially for the season of yellow orange and green tangerine.” Currently, it is the peak season for marketing of Yongxing sweet orange. The fruit farmers and e-merchants gathered in the shed of sweet orange set in the yard of Yongxing County Post Office to arrange the delivery issues for days. Tens of the staffs of the post office were very busy with the packing work. There were also some volunteers worked there.

 

In order to deliver the fresh sweet oranges to market at the soonest time, Chenzhou Post took active actions on establishing the platform to serve for the fruit farmers. In order to ensure all sweet oranges to be delivered in the same day of collecting, Chenzhou Post provided the best supports for Yongxing county. The leader of the company led volunteers to work in Yongxing county and serve the fruit farmers with one-stop service as collecting, packing, weighing, loading, and delivering. Some volunteers from Zixing city, Guiyang county and Anren county were also dispatched to support Yongxing county’s work. Mr. He, one of the fruit farmers on site gladly said to the reporters that: “I used to call the post office to collect the oranges. It provides sound service with low cost and it is fast on delivery that the cargos can be arrived at Changsha city in the second day. Many farmers like me chose its service.” As introduced by Hu Hui who is the team leader of Chenzhou Post’s volunteer team that sometime when they drove on the roads, some farmers waved to stop their cars to post the sweet oranges.

 

The convenient station is also set in every town and county of Chenzhou city by Chenzhou Post, which greatly benefits local fruit farmers. The staffs will collect the parcel door to door on receiving the call. Wang Chengquan, the principal of Bitang E-commerce Public Service Center of Bianjiang town, said to reporters that: “the farmers needed to send the sweet oranges to the county office and waited there for long time in earlier days. But now they just need to send to the convenient station and then go back to work, which helps to save a lot of time.”

 

It was introduced that till now, 50,000 parcels of sweet oranges have been handled by the post from the marketing date of November 15, 2015, accounting for 4000 parcels daily. On the day of December 2, 2015, 6000 parcels were handled by the office. Guided by the sweet orange post business of Yongxing Post, Yizhang, Jiahe, Zixing, and Anren’s post office explored some similar businesses for the delivery of navel orange, red pomelo, and etc.

 

From the beginning of 2015, Chenzhou Post placed great efforts on promoting the construction of rural ecommerce service stations to build the two-direction channel of “sending consumer goods to rural area” and “delivering agricultural products to urban area”, which was purposely to provide convenient condition for the villagers to enjoy shipping, marketing, entrepreneurship, and delivery without stepping outside the village. At the meantime, assisted with the support of E-merchants Operation Center of Hunan Post, Chenzhou Post took active actions on exploring the development model of rural ecommerce in Yongxing county. It docked with Yongxing agricultural industry to handle the crowdfunding of sweet orange, establish Ecommerce Industrial Park & China Post Youth Ecommerce Entrepreneurship and Incubation (Yongxing) Base, and launch the incubation project of ecommerce talents, which helped to shape the Yongxing style ecommerce model of one park with three levels of government (county, town, and village), and establish convenient channel for the sending green products to urban area.
