It was learned from Maqiao town of Rucheng county that in order to promote its agricultural industry, it placed great efforts on improving the planting special food as pearl barley. According to the statistics, the yield capacity can be up to 150kgs/mu and annual output value can be amounted to over 3million yuan.

The Town Party Committee and Government mobilized the farmers to handle the planning of lands systematically before spring ploughing and took active actions on adjusting the planting structure. The total areas for the planting of pearl barley were expanded to over one thousand mu, up 80%. A 308-mu big pearl barley base was built in Zidong village as well.

Thanks to the scientific planting and management, the pearl barley was gained with historical yield. According to the statistics, the yield capacity can be up to 150kgs/mu and annual output value can be amounted to over 3million yuan, which would play a sound demonstration role on further promotion of special food planting.
