2015-12-11

“List of China’s Top 50 ‘Oxygen Bar’ Cities” was issued by Sina and some other internet media recently. Chenzhou city is the exclusive one from Hunan province enrolled into the list.

It was learned that the list was worked out by the research and development institute named of “Standard Ranking Institute”. All the data was consisted of following three ones: 2013 green coverage ratio of construction areas, 2013 per capita area of park green land, 2014 number of days of excellent and good air quality. All the data were sourced from “China City Construction Statistic Yearbook (2013)” which was published in 2014 and 2014 statistical bulletins of national economic and social development issued by cities. Chenzhou city’s values of three items mentioned above were 42.4%, 11.06 square meters and 335 days.

As stated by the researchers, forest coverage rate, green coverage rate, and greening rate are some key points indicate the “vital capacity” of a region. Higher value, better “vital capacity” and capacity on counteracting pollution of the area. So the Standard Ranking Institute took the three data as green coverage ratio of construction areas, per capita area of park green land and number of days of excellent and good air quality into the consideration of judgement of “oxygen bar” city.

Most of the 50 cities enrolled into the list are third or forth-tier cities. The Standard Ranking Institute evaluated 110 sample cities ranking ahead of the 291 municipal level cities by data processing and analysis in advance, and then followed weighted ranking to figure out the final top 50 ones.
