It was learned from Chenzhou Reform and Development Commission that 2.27billion yuan investments were placed on wind power projects in Chenzhou city from this January to November. Till the end of this year, the generating capacity of wind power can be over one billion kwh.

New energy industry is one of the 7 strategic new industries encouraged to be improved by the government. Due to the unique landform of Chenzhou city, it is full of rich wind power resources and was listed as one of the key planning areas for the development of wind power in Hunan province. From 2006, tens of wind power development enterprises signed the cooperation agreements with the counties and cities of Chenzhou city. Over 20 anemometer towers were set up there. Till the end of this November, the total hoisting capacity and the grid connection capacity for the 18 wind power plants were amounted to 750,300 kilowatts and 682,300kilowatts respectively.

From the beginning of this year, the wind power projects of Chenzhou city were with sound improvement. 6 wind power projects as Rucheng Shiziling Wind Power Plant, first phase of Yongxing Youma Wind Power Plant, the second phase of Guiyang Qinglan Wind Power Plant, Beihu Jiangkou Wind Power Plant, Guiyang Liangtang Wind Power Plant, and Zixing Bamianshan Wind Power Plant were enrolled into “the notice for releasing 5th batch approved wind power plants of ‘12th 5-year plan’” which was issued by the State Energy Bureau.

It was introduced that Chenzhou city enhanced its working forces on planning wind power projects to ensure the rapid development of wind power industry. On this December 11, 2015, the launching ceremony for the first wind power plant as well as the first new energy project of Yongxing county- Yongxing Youma Wind Power Plant was held in the county. It is one of the 5th batch approved projects of “12th five-year plan” and is operated by China Huadian Corporation Hunan Branch. The planned installed capacity of it is 100,000kilowatts with total investments of 900million yuan. The first phase of this project is 46,000killowatts and is estimated to be finished and connected with the grid in 2016. Once the first phase finished, it can help to provide 9154kwh clean power to the grid. Compared with the coal-fired power plant, it can help to save 40,000tons of coals, decrease the emission of sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide of 547.51tons and 67,800tons, and also emission of waste water and warm water every year, which is with sound economic and social effects.
