It was reported that Bamianshan Yao minority town of Zixing city called for the mao bamboo processing enterprises and representatives of the Party members to discuss the development of mao bamboo industry.

Former Qingyao town and Lianping Yao minority town of Zixing city were with abundant mao bamboo resources, and 15 processing enterprises were available there. Due to the development of mao bamboo businesses, local people’s income were increased. Though more mao bamboo enterprises established there, there were no cooperation among them. The phenomenon that “the industry was large but not strong” became more prominent gradually. 5 enterprises which were located in remote areas without unified planning and with high cost were closed sequentially.

In December 2015, the two towns were merged to be Bamianshan Yao minority town. In this new town, the areas of mao bamboo are about 120,000mu and 13,000 people were engaged into this business, accounting for 86.7% of total population. How to unify all the resources and forge 20km long mao bamboo passage industrial belt became the first concern of local leaders and cadres. The Town Party Committee decided to integrate current resources, remove the small processing enterprises from the core area, and close the ones did not meet the environment evaluation. At the meantime, it will forge “20km long mao bamboo passage industrial belt” along former Qingyao- Lianping highway, which is helpful to drive local poverty alleviation work as well. It was introduced by Xiao Lu’an- Secretary of the Town Party Committee that: “we will set up Mao Bamboo Industrial Processing Association, create Bamianshan Mao Bamboo brand, and introduce and expand the production lines.”
