In late 1980s’ and early 1990s’, when the salary of Chenzhou city still kept as one hundred yuan/month, Guangdong province’ s level was over one thousand yuan/month. On the pursuit of becoming wealthier, some young Chenzhou people went to Guangdong province and fought for their dreams there.

Cao Xiaoqi who was just 16 years old in 1993 arrived at Dongguan city with 30yuan collected from his county fellows of Guidong county.

He started to work in a leatherware plant after over 20 hours journey from his hometown.

Lacking of education and working experience, young guy Cao Xiaoqi changed different work to make a living. All those heavy work evoked the young man’s ambition to be wealthy.

In 1994, Cao Xiaoqi found a job in a jeans factory and was promoted to be general manager after 9 years.

Cao launched his private business after accumulating some capitals and took in charge of marketing, promotion, and management of production by his own. Years later, the jeans produced in Cao’s factory were exported to South and North America, Europe, Middle Asia, and other regions. Now, the annual production capacity of his factory is 6million pieces/suits, accounting for over 100million yuan output value.

In 1995, Long Xiaobin resigned from the post of an “iron bowl” and worked as an electrician in Guangdong province. He also sold tractors later.

The diligent guy developed the first prototype of cnc tube bending machine of China which was preferred by Midea- the famous manufacturer of China.

With 20-year efforts, Zhongshan OMS Industrial Co., Ltd. which was established by Long Xiaobin has been improved to be a famous manufacturing company worldwide. It provides the processing devices for the famous air conditioner manufacturers of the world and becomes a “bellwether” in global tubing contour machining devices industry with an annual output value of over 500million yuan.

In 2005, on the consideration of his child’s dancing dream, the 54-year old Zhou Yuchun abandoned his catering business in Chenzhou city and started a whole new life in Shenzhen city.

Zhou was neither humble nor pushy on the change of role from a boss to an employee. He found a job from the grassroots in an investment company and then promoted to be manager step by step.

During those years, some private companies of China were on the “take-off” stage of incubation and listing, Zhou took fancy on some “dark horses” on the basis of the investment knowledge he learned from the company and gained great rewards afterward.

The suffering undertaken by them on the entrepreneurship was unimaginable to other people.

Rising

As the power of Chenzhou merchants becomes stronger, the willingness to be improved together with the collaborative group is becoming stronger as well.

Deng Guanhua who was born in Guanxi town, Yizhang county is the Doctor of Medical College of Wuhan University and is the Director & General Manager of Guangzhou Improve Medial Co., Ltd. As the elite of technology and success profile of high-end entrepreneurship, Deng Guanhua lifted up “Chenzhou merchants” flag firstly in Guangdong province and in December, 2012, established Hunan Chenzhou Chamber of Commerce of Guangdong Province which is the first provincial level Chenzhou chamber in other places.

From then on, Chenzhou chambers of commerce in other places were boosted over around China. Till now, Chenzhou chamber of commerce have been established and operated in 11 places of China. Preparatory groups for the establishment of Chenzhou chamber of commerce were also established in 9 regions as Xi’an, Xiamen, Wenzhou, Shenyang, and etc. and some foreign countries as Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa, Cambodia, and etc.

On economics, chamber of commerce is a necessary product of commodity economy and is an important bridge between government and merchants, merchants and merchants, and merchants and society.

In Chenzhou chambers of commerce in other places, the members shared their experience with each other and support each other. Taking Chenzhou Chamber of Commerce of Shenzhen for example, it hired professional legal counselors to provide legal services and aid for the members.

Chamber of commerce helped to band Chenzhou merchants together and triggered “the rising of Chenzhou merchants”, which simulated the merchants’ decision to pay back hometown in return: from 2012 to 2015, more than 5000 merchants from different chambers attended the promotion conferences held by Chenzhou city in the coastal cities of China and signed over 200 projects with Chenzhou city, 98 of which have been settled down. More than 10billion yuan were placed in Chenzhou city, contributing 1.831billion yuan profits and tax payments. New equipment manufacturing, minerals deepening processing, electronics information, biological pharmacy, new energy autos, modern logistics, e-commerce, large commerce city complex, infrastructure, real estate, cultural tourism, new agriculture, and etc. were covered into the list of investments.

In recent years, more than 2000 people of investment attraction teams from different counties and districts of Chenzhou city were received by Chenzhou chambers of commerce in other places which organized more than 2000 people to investigate Chenzhou city in return. Over 40-billion-yuan contracts were signed with Chenzhou city with the chambers assistance, 10billion yuan of which has been paid-in.

Furthermore, the chambers played its best role on communication to promote the regional economic cooperation among the governments and merchants.

In recent years, some delegations of Chenzhou Party and Government investigated Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hubei, Fujian, Anhui, Henan, Chongqing, Jiangxi, and some other places. Chenzhou Chambers of Commerce of these places took active actions to participate in relative investment attraction work and helped to settle more than 30 projects with over 8billion yuan investments between Chenzhou city and Guangdong, Shanghai, Fujian, Zhejiang, and etc. They also organized and introduced 202 batches of 1617 merchants from other provinces to visit Chenzhou city, which helped to settle 83 projects with total investments of 16.236billion yuan.

The network of Chenzhou Chambers of Commerce in other places is being improved more perfectly with larger scale and stronger power. It has become a window and brand for the propaganda of Chenzhou city and a significant power for further development of Chenzhou city.

The rising of Chenzhou merchants is just on the stage of sprout at present, and still has a long journey to reach prosperous development.
