It was reported that two projects of South Graphite Company of Ching National Building Material Group- R&D center of new material engineering technics and purification of graphite were launched in Chenzhou city in the morning of June 29, 2016. Cao jianglin- General Manager of CNBM Group and CEO of CNBM Co., Ltd. attended the ceremony and announced its launching as well. The project of R&D center of new material engineering technics which is covered with 50million yuan investment is located in Jiuzitang Road of Chenzhou central urban area, including R&D of technics, pilot run base of engineering technics, high-end graphite, test center of some materials, and etc.

The project of purification of graphite which is covered with 220million yuan investment is located in Lengshui village, Lutang town, Beihu district. It was introduced that it is capable to purify the low graphite to pure graphite with the annual processing capacity of 0.3million tons raw ores and production capacity of 0.2-0.22million tons refined ores. It can help to lay solid foundation for further production of high purified graphite and high-end graphite products and extension of graphite industrial chain.

In the opening ceremony, Cao Jianglin stated that Hunan province is an important strategic place for CNBM Group’s industrial layout. In last 5 years, CNMB integrated Chenzhou graphite industry and gained sound achievements on improving technological development, promoting refined processing of graphite products, and accelerating the transformation development of graphite industry. The launching of these two projects indicated that South Graphite is going to extend from exploration of mineral resources to full industry chain of graphite refined processing. Once the R&D center finished, the top level R&D team would be introduced there and shaped the research base for conversion of technical results, and then improved to be strong platform of high purity graphite application. The project of purification of graphite can help to fill up the gap on purification of amorphous graphite. CNMB Group would keep placing more supports on South Graphite and try to finish the 100,000-ton high-purity graphite purification project during “13th five-year plan”. It would also take active actions on promoting the research and development of graphene products and upgrading of application of graphite, which is purposely to maximize the advantages of graphite resources.

Yi Pengfei said that the two projects are the first batch key projects launched after signing the strategic investment agreements between the two parties, as well as remarkable projects for structural reform of the supply front and upgrading of industrial transformation of graphite industry. Chenzhou city is famous as “county of amorphous graphite”, accounting for over 70% of the reserve of China. Graphite industry is one of the pillar industries of Chenzhou city which is with best foundation, advantages, and potentiality. CNMB Group is the most strategic partner for Chenzhou city’s industrial development, while Chenzhou city is the important place for the group’s industrial layout. The strategic cooperation between the two parties can be helpful to promote the integration, innovation, and upgrading of full industrial chain of graphite.

Yi Pengfei emphasized that all departments should take active actions to solve the problems hindered on the way of further improvement of the two projects, especially on narrow-neck problems and elements supports, so South Graphite Company can be favored with sound conditions in Chenzhou city to promote its development and improvement of Graphite Industrial Park. The launching of the two projects should be well seized to enhance the docking with CNMB and promote the settlement of strategic cooperation agreements. Yi also hoped that CNMB can place more investments on Chenzhou city to promote the R&D and industrialization application of high purity graphite, graphite pole, anode material for lithium -ion, graphene, and etc., and then play more important role on the promotion of Chenzhou graphite industry.
