It was reported that 9 public judges selected out their favorite ten cultural symbols of Chenzhou city on September 6,2016.

Except one judge asked for sick leave, 9 other judges voted their favorite 10 symbols for the 20 nominees as Ganfenshe of Anren county, Banliang ancient village, Baoshan National Mine Park, “郴”(Chen-Chinese character), the First Military Regulations, Dongjiang Lake, marry accompanying song of Jiahe county, CMGS, Limwu duck, Mount Mang, Xifengdu fish noodle, Rucheng Reshui Hot spring, Suxianling, Tongtian jade, Hunan Kunqu opera, Xiangnan Uprising, Hunan-Guangdong ancient horse trace, Emperor Yidi Mausoleum, Training Base of Chinese Women's Volleyball Team, silver city of China, and etc.

All the public judges were drawn by lots from 93 nominees and were notarized by Fucheng Notary Office. Every judge should select 10 symbols from the 20 nominees. The public judges' results will contribute 30% for the final results of the cultural symbols list. In the end of this September, the final list will be released via press conference after final selection of experts.

The 72-year-old Wu Xubin who is one of the public judges arrived in Chenzhou city early that morning from Yizhang county. He wore very officially for the respect consideration of the selection and selected the ten symbols after reading all details. As he said:"I'm now on behalf of the five millions Chenzhou people. We should leave some treasurable thing to our descendants." After signing the selection form, he submitted tit the staff.

Yuan Kongbin well prepared for the selection. During the public voting stage, he took some investigations among his colleagues and friends and learned some ideas for them. "It is responsible to handle the voting on behalf of all Chenzhou people, so I'm serious about the selection. I took more attention on the symbols which can show regional culture, red culture, and historical culture of Chenzhou city," said Yuan.

It was introduced by some staffs of Propaganda Department of Chenzhou City that public selection, public judges' selection, and experts' selection would contribute 30%, 30%,and 40% respectively to the final results. The confirmed list will be released publicly in the end of this month.
