Hunan Graphene Production Base was inaugurated in Chenzhou High-tech Industrial Park on this October 26. It is helpful for Chenzhou City to take the favourable opportunity on improving innovative development of graphene technology.

Graphene is the thinnest, lightest, but hardest nanomaterial has ever been known in the world now. It is with extraordinary electrical property, great sturdiness which is ten times of the steel, and excellent light permeability. As one of the major producers of graphite resources in China. Its reserves of microcrystalline graphite is about 74.7% of China. All of those grant it with great advantages for the development of graphene industry. Currently, Chenzhou City is working hard on improving it to be significant base of graphite new material industry and upgrading it to one of the leading areas of China on graphene and relative application industries.

Thanks to the integration of resources, transformation and upgrading, the layout of graphite mines of Chenzhou City is becoming more reasonable, and the mining, smelting, and trading of graphite are being improved to be more integrated. Currently, the graphite industry is being transferred to be mainly on deepening processing products from rough-wrought products, which upgrades the products to be with higher technological level.

The first national level quality control centre of graphite products of China has been established in Chenzhou City. It is qualified with the testing capacity of 629 items of 123 products as graphite ore, graphite electrode, anode material for lithium-ion, and etc.
