From January 12 to 13, 2017 National Tourism Work Conference was held in Changsha. The reporter learned from the meeting that the major red tourist areas (spots) of our province received 92 million domestic tourists and achieved the comprehensive income of 55 billion yuan in 2016.

From 2013, five red tourism counties and cities rich in resources of Shaoshan, Yanling, Rucheng, Yizhang, Tongdao, have been listed as cultural tourism industry characteristic county and got the financial support from Provincial Bureau of Finance for 3 years. In recent years, our province has created a high standard of 36 A-class red tourist scenic spots and 3 of 5A red tourist scenic spots were among them. Last year, our 18 key counties of red tourism resources were incorporated into the create units of national global tourism demonstration area. Our province is creating a number of global tourism bases as the theme of red tourism.

At present, the province has launched 6 red tourist routes of "The growing-up road of Mao Zedong", "The study tour of Young Mao Zedong", "The tour of Sanxiang Anti-Japanese" and "The red tour of East Hunan". In the international and provincial cooperation, the red tourist routes were developed from Mao Zedong's hometown to Lenin's hometown; Xiangtan City, Guang'an City of Deng Xiaoping's hometown, and Zhongshan City of Sun Zhongshan's hometown, jointly launched tourism product lines of "The hometown lines of three great men in twentieth century”.

Our province has developed assessment criteria and scoring rules of provincial red tourism area (spots); 112 of general basic standards, security standards and service delivery standards were carried out by Shaoshan national red tourism service industry standardization pilots, and passed the acceptance of the National Standards Committee. The flowers ceremony in Mao Zedong Plaza Management Office, "Mao's Pork", etc had the national standard in the first time.
