From September 6 to 7, the National Development and Reform Commission authorized the China Civil Engineering Consulting Company to hold the Chenzhou airport feasibility report assessment meeting in Beijing. The experts agreed that Chenzhou Airport with better economic and social benefits is necessary and feasible to construct and supported to speed up the progress of the project.

During the period, the participating experts made the careful assessment for the "Feasibility study report on Hunan Chenzhou civil airport", "Traditional flight procedure report ", "PBN flight program report" and "Aircraft performance analysis report" (hereinafter referred to as the "feasibility study reports") compiled by Shanghai Civil Aviation New Times Airport Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd, and issued the expert group opinions with 27 pages around the project background, planning basis and the necessity of construction, airport location, airport sites, aviation business forecasting and other 13 aspects of Chenzhou airport.

The expert group considered that according to the Yangtze River Economic Zone Comprehensive Transportation Corridor Planning (2014 - 2020) and civil aviation "13th Five-Year" planning, the implementation of the project will accelerate the development of local tourism resources and promote the sustainable development of the economy and society; will help improve the local traffic conditions, promote the development of general aviation, and improve the emergency rescue capability, so it is necessary to build a civil airport in Chenzhou.

The expert group also made professional comments on the revision of the "feasibility study reports" and exchanged views on the contents of the "feasibility study reports" with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Air Staff, the Southern Air Force Staff, the Civil Aviation Administration of Hunan, Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Hunan Airport Management Group, South China Blue Sky Aviation Oil Co., Ltd. Hunan Branch, Chenzhou government and the relevant units responsible person. China Civil Aviation Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Civil Aviation New Times Airport Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. indicated that they would actively cooperate with the Chenzhou government on the improvement and revision of the feasibility study reports according to the views of the expert group and submit the assessment report to the National Development and Reform Commission as soon as possible.
