It was learned from Guiyang County Culture, Tourism, Radio, Television and Sports Bureau that Guiyang County team won 4 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze in the just concluded Youth Weightlifting Championship of Hunan Province in 2009. The total score of the team was the first and the total number of gold medals was the second in the province.

The competition, sponsored by Hunan Sports Bureau, was held in Ningyuan County from July 14 to 18. The Hunan Weightlifting Management Center, Hunan Weightlifting Association, and nearly 500 leaders, coaches, athletes and referees from 14 cities and states attended in the event. The excellent weightlifters from all over the province gathered for the competition. 16 excellent athletes from Guiyang County participated and achieved gratifying results.
