The 300 MW cadmium telluride thin film power glass project of CNBM (Chengdu) Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd. settled in Chenzhou on December 10. After the project is completed, it will replace the glass curtain wall of buildings and can generate power, achieving the integration of building and energy conservation.
Cadmium telluride thin film power generation glass is a new type of advanced material. As an innovative product in the photovoltaic industry, it’s a laminated glass made of a 3.2mm cadmium telluride power glass and one or more back glass sheets through special techniques to turn ordinary glass into a conductive, power generating, and recyclable semiconductor material. This material has good weak light power generation performance, low temperature coefficient, high stability, and long service life, with broad application prospects in many fields such as glass curtain wall power generation and glass floor power generation.
The project, with the planned investment of 2.7 billion yuan, is expected to achieve an annual output value of 2 billion yuan and an annual tax revenue of over 50 million yuan. It will provide 200 job opportunities after it’s put into operation.
It will inject new vitality into the new energy and new materials industry in Chenzhou, expand the industry scale, optimize the industrial structure, promote the clustering, synergy, and high-end development of the advanced energy materials industry, and help Chenzhou cultivate new-quality productivity in the field of advanced energy materials.
