On June 7, Municipal People's Congress Financial and Economic Committee, and Preparatory Committee for the Standing Committee organized the responsible person of municipal related departments to hold the city's nonferrous metal industry transformation and upgrading research forum. Party Secretary and Deputy Director of Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee Zhang Aiguo attended the forum and made a speech.

At the meeting, the participants made the discussion and exchange on the status and prospect of nonferrous metal industry transformation and upgrading in our city. In recent years, our city's nonferrous metals industry has formed a relatively complete system of mining - smelting – processing and become the first industrial cluster to break through hundreds of billions in Chenzhou to effectively support our city's industrial economy in the first phalanx of whole province. In 2016, the city's nonferrous metal industry output value hit 105.2 billion yuan and the total output value of the industry accounted for 32.8% of the city's industrial economy, becoming the main support of Chenzhou's industrial economic growth. At present, there are a total of 184 nonferrous metal enterprises in whole city, in which 22 enterprises of output value over 1 billion yuan and 5 enterprises of output value over 20 billion yuan.

Zhang Aiguo pointed out that as a traditional industry, the development of nonferrous metal industry has the advantages of resources and talent in our city and has made a positive contribution to the economic output and tax revenue of our city. He required that in the context of changeable international market, tighten environmental policies, adjustive tax policies and supply-side structural reform，the relevant departments in whole city should reach a consensus, seize the key, research and solve the new difficulties and problems faced by enterprises; should strengthen our confidence, understand the situation, solve the problems of resources and capital, solve the problems of talent and technology, solve the problems of innovation and integration, and promote the transformation and upgrading of our city's nonferrous metals industry to make the healthy and sustainable development.
