It was reported that 2016 Symposium for Land & Resource Museum Specialized Commission of Chinese Association of Natural Science Museum & launching ceremony for International Ecommerce Platform of Mineral Gems was held in Chenzhou International Convention & Exhibition Center on May 18, 2016. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City attended the ceremony and made a speech there.

As stated by Qu Hai, Chenzhou city improved mineral gem industry as a pillar industry for its improvement of “new increasing pole” of Hunan province in recent years. Mineral Gem Exhibition Center and 3 mineral gem exhibition halls were built there, while more than 200 folk venues for mineral gems were available as well. More than 0.2million pieces of mineral crystals, gems, decoration stones, aerolites, fossils, and etc. have been collected by the centers. In last May, the show which was firstly held in Chenzhou city was so amazing that its scale and influence were comparable to the USA Tucson Show and Germany Munich Show. It was honored as “the show opened on pithead”. Hunan Government decided to fix the show in Chenzhou city permanently, which indicated that this show will never be closed.

Qu Hai stated Chenzhou city would follow the theme of International Museum Day of “museum and cultural landscape” to handle the work on collection, preservation, and protection of mineral gems. It would pay closer attention on the study, extraction, obtain, development, and sharing of mineral gems, as well as the propaganda, popularization, and utilization of mineral gems, and upgrading of the decoration, collection, cultural, and marketing value of mineral gems, which is purposely to forge characteristic international mineral gem exhibition brand.

Qu said Chenzhou city made the full use of modern information technologies as computer, big data, internet, internet of things, and etc. to extend the platform of the show and provide the museums, mineral merchants, and institutions with more convenient online platform of purchasing, evaluation, research, and communication, which helped to show the great charm of “city of mineral crystal” to the world.

Zhao Youli- Vice President of Chinese Association of Natural Science Museum, Jia Yueming- Vice President of Chinese Association of Natural Science Museum, Director of Land & Resource Museum Specialized Commission of Chinese Association of Natural Science Museum, and Curator of Geological Museum of China, and Hu Nengyong- Curator of Geological Museum of Hunan attended the ceremony, and launched the platform together with Qu Hai.
