Rucheng Enrolled into the List of “Top Ten Ecological Tea Counties of China”

Guidong county and Rucheng county were enrolled into the list of top 100 main tea counties

 

In the morning of October 20, 2015, the 11th Annual Economic Conference of Chinese Tea Industry was held in Xinyang city, Henan province. Rucheng county was enrolled into “2015 top ten ecological tea counties of China”, which is the exclusive county from Hunan province. At the meantime, Guidong county and Rucheng county were honored with the title of“2015 main tea county”, ranking the top 100 of China.

 

Annual Economic Conference of Chinese Tea Industry which is a comprehensive conference held by Chinese Tea Marketing Association annually from 2005 is supported by some ministries and departments of China. Annual Economic Conference of Chinese Tea Industry is undertaken by the main tea cities and counties which submit the application. Till now, Pu’er of Yunnan province, Ningde (Fuding) of Fujian province, and some cities have handled the event. In order to implement the sustainable development targets of “quality, safety, environmental protection and well-being first” and promote the green ecological development of China’s tea industry, Chinese Tea Marketing Association handles out the measure of selection of “top ten ecological tea counties of China”. The selection of main tea counties of China would be followed specified investigation handled out by Chinese Tea Marketing Association and some provincial associations and organizations of tea industry together. Final 100 counties would be ranked in the list on the basis of tea yield via objective data and comparison study methods.

 

Rucheng county followed the development ideas of “establishing tea base, cultivating leading enterprises, promoting tea brand, improving tea industry, upgrading tea tourism, and carrying forward tea culture”to fully improve the tea industries. Donggangling 10-thousand-mu ecological and organic tea garden, Nanling 10-thousand-mu ecological tea garden, and Tianzhuang Nuanshui 10-thousand-mu ecological tea garden were established in Rucheng county. Some powerful enterprises from Guangdong and Zhejiang province were introduced there to work together with local businessmen and operate some tea enterprises. All of those greatly helped to inject new vitality to Rucheng county’s tea industry.

 

In recent years, Guidong county released some incentive policies such as “solution on promoting the development of tea industry”, and etc. 10million yuan special funds which would be collected by county finance for tea industry development every year from 2010 would be mainly used on supporting the construction of tea base, management, processing and production, and establishment of brands. “Linglong tea”which is with good quality was successfully established to be“national geographical indications protection products” and its traditional craftsmanship was enrolled into “Hunan provincial intangible heritage list”.
