The expansion projects of Leiyang-Yizhang section of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, Jinyushi-Liling section of Shanghai-Kunshan Expressway and Yuanshui Hongjiang-Chenxi waterway are to be started and a mobilization meeting was held in Chenzhou on the morning of July 27.
Leiyang-Yizhang expansion project of Beijing-Hong Kong &Macao Expressway is the first highway reconstruction project to be upgraded from “four-lane to eight-lane” in Hunan Province, which starts from Leiyang City, through Yongxing, Suxian, Beihu, Yizhang, etc., and ends at Xiaotang Service Area, Yizhang County (Hunan and Guangdong provincial boundary).
It is connected to the northern Guangdong section of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, with a total length of 144.9 kilometers.
The original highway will be renovated and expanded to eight lanes, with a total of 12 interchanges, 5 service areas, 1 parking area and 3 maintenance areas. It is expected to be completed and open to traffic in 2025.
