Surrounded by Dongjiang Lake, Swan Mountain National Forest Park got its name after a legend: during the reign of Emperor Jingjia of Ming Dynasty, people suffered severe drought dizaster and the mountains withered into bleak treeless lands. All of sudden, the mountains covered by a band of swans, and these lucky birds brought heavy rain 3 days later, which helped the mountain became a jade-ribbon of green and luxuriant trees. The Park boasts picturesque sceneries including lofty mountains, green trees, majestic waterfalls and beautiful birds. Lucky visitors might see the elegance swans flying in the sky. The Park is also the home of numerous state conservation animals and has the world's largest cluster of silver fir.
