A "Red Map of Chenzhou City” was released recently, which will allow the people all over the country to know more about the revolutionary and historical culture in the city.

 

19. Former Residence of Li Tao

 

The former residence of Li Tao is located in Xinpo Village, Yanshou Yao Township, Rucheng County.

 

Li Tao (1905-1970), joined the Communist Party of China in February 1926 and was a member of CPC Rucheng Group, one of the main leaders of the early party organizations in Rucheng. In 1927, he joined the Workers’ and Peasants’ Revolutionary Army and prepared for the Xiangnan Riot in Rucheng with Zhu De’s troops. In April 1929, he became the political instructor of the First Brigade of the Second Independent Regiment of the Jiangxi Red Army.

 

He was elected as a member of the Central Revolutionary Military Commission in 1931 and participated in the Long March in 1934. During the Anti-Japanese War, he served as an instructor in the guerrilla training class in Nanyue with Ye Jianying. In 1955, he was awarded the rank of General, the Order of Bayi, the Order of Independence and Freedom, and the Order of Liberation.

 

20. Deng Liquns Former Residence

 

Deng Liqun’s Former Residence is located in Liuyuan Village, Zhaiqian Town of Guidong County.

Deng Liqun (1915.11-2015.2) joined the revolution in 1935. He joined the Chinese Communist Youth League and the Communist Party of China in 1936. He took the job of the peaceful liberation of Xinjiang in 1949 as a special commissioner. He was elected a member of the CPC Central Committee at the 12th CPC National Congress, Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee at the 1st plenary session of the 12th CPC Central Committee, and a member of the Central Advisory Committee at the 13th CPC National Congress. After 1990, he served as the deputy head of the leading group of the party history work of the CPC Central Committee.

 

21. The First Army Regulations Square

 

The First Army Regulations Square is located in Wanshougong Community, Shatian Town of Guidong County.

The First Army Regulations Square was built in October 2008, which aims to commemorate chairman Mao Zedong delivering a speech in Shatian Town, carry out the spirit of patriotism, develop red tourism resources, and promote the economy in the revolutionary base area.

 

22. Old Site of Enlarged Meeting of the Fourth Red Army Front Committee (Tangs House, Town Gods Temple)

 

Tang’s House is located in No.3, Hongjun Road, West Oujiang Town, Guidong County. Town God’s Temple is located in the intersection of West Street and Red Army Road in Guidong County.

On August 23, 1928, Mao Zedong held an enlarged meeting of the front committee, on which they reported the situation of the forces respectively, criticized the radicalism and summarized the previous failure. This meeting helped preserve the main force of the Red Army and further consolidate the Jinggangshan revolutionary base. In August 1928, Mao Zedong held a mass meeting in Town God’s Temple and delivered an important speech. The former site of the enlarged meeting of the Front Committee of the Fourth Red Army is now a key national cultural relics protection unit.

23. Guidong Former Residence of Peasant Movement Institute

 

Guidong Former Residence of Peasant Movement Institute is located in Liuyuan Village, Zhaiqian Town, Guidong County.

In March 1927, under the leadership of the CPC Guidong County Branch, Guidong County Farmers’ Association was formally established. In order to cultivate the backbones for the peasant movement, the institute was opened in Shangde township (today’s Zhaiqian town) school at the end of March 1927. Young people aged 16 to 20 with primary school education were enrolled in the school, and each period lasted for two months. The institute lasted 41 days from March to May.

 

24. Former Residence of Tang Tianji

 

The former residence of Tang Tianji is located in Yangliutian Village, Huawang Township, Anren County.

 

Tang Tianji, born in 1904, joined the Chinese Communist Youth League in May 1925, was admitted to Huangpu Military Academy in July and joined the Communist Party of China in September 1926. He participated in the Northern Expedition, the August 1 Nanchang Uprising and the Xiangnan Riot. He has made many achievements in Jinggangshan Struggle, Central Soviet Struggle, the Long March, Anti-Japanese War and Liberation War. He was awarded the rank of Lieutenant in 1955. Tang Tianji was not only a revolutionary general with outstanding achievements, but also a calligrapher, who is referred as a “general calligrapher”.

The former residence of Tang Tianji was the place where Tang Tianji lived and received education when he was young and also where he led the Huawang Uprising. During the Xiangnan Uprising, Zhu De came to this house to discuss with Tang Tianji about attacking Anren County.

 

25. Former Residence of Cao Lihuai

 

The former residence of Cao Lihuai is located in Baishu Village, Huilongshan Yao Township, Zixing City.

Cao Lihuai (1909.11-1998.5) joined the Xiangnan Uprising and the Communist Party of China in 1928. In 1955, he was awarded the rank of Lieutenant and won the the Order of Bayi, the Order of Independent & Freedom and the Order of Liberation. In 1988, he was awarded the first-class Red Star Merit of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
