Jiahe National Forest Park

Jiahe National Forest Park, located in the southwest of Jiahe County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, is known as the “green lung” and “urban oxygen bar” of Jiahe County. The park is located at the northern foot of the Nanling Mountains, and is situated in the abdomen of the valley basin. It’s divided into two separate areas, Nanling Mountain and Jiulaofeng, with a total planned area of 4,922.89 hectares and a forest coverage rate of 99.12%.
The arbor community is rich in tree species, with 52 species of arbor species. The yellow sandalwood group and Minnan forest community in the park are extremely rare ancient forests. The trees such as yellow sandalwood and pistacia chinensis bunge in the community are all over 200 years old and have an average height of 25 meters.
The Jiulaofeng area is a typical karst landscape, with 41 rocky hills rising from the ground and a rich variety of limestone plants. The Jiahe National Forest Park has now recorded 18 species of wildlife under Class II national protection and 131 species of terrestrial vertebrates.
