It was reported that Huangcao town was awarded as “Hunan provincial famous tourism town” recently by Hunan Tourism Bureau. From then on Huangcao town was enrolled into the advanced tourism towns list of Hunan province, which would be greatly helpful for promoting its further tourism development.

Huangcao town is the core landscape of Dongjiang lake, which is famous as “town of south of Yangtze River and flower of Dongjiang lake”. Along with the development of Dongjiang drift, Huangcao town’s leisure tourism industry was promoted well in recent years, especially after the confirmation to establish Dongjiang lake as national 5A landscape. It planned to forge a Hunan style’s water town. The second phase of upgrading project was launched in Huangcao town in 2013. Ten projects with over 40million yuan investment were covered into this phase to improve the tourism infrastructure of the town. At the meantime, some greening projects, decoration projects, lighting projects and other upgrading projects were handled out in the town to improve the town’s tourism environment.

Some more tourism projects were settled down there with the town’s great efforts on promotion of leisure tourism development. Much more attention were placed on the upgrading of tourism facilities, environment condition and service on the development of the town’s tourism industry. At the meantime, the town tried more efforts on the development and promotion of tourism culture and tourism products, such as holding some theme parties, national competition, etc., which helped to popularize the fame and tourism brand of the town. According to the data, 180,000 visitors were received by Huangcao town in 2013, up 20%. The total tourism income hit about 50 million yuan, ranking the top place of other towns of Hunan province.
