Ministry of Railway Sends Over 7 Million Passengers /Day

The railway transportation is under good condition. Concerning the day of October 2, there were 7.15 million passengers undertaken by railways, about 0.7 million more than that in the last year, up 10.9%. 4317 trains and 332 temporary trains were placed to operation.

 

Compared with earlier years, there are much more passengers who choose to travel by train. 2012’s “golden week” began from September 27, 2012. During the earlier 4 days of this “golden week”, the passengers were more than 7 million each day. Especially for the September 29 and September 30, there were over 8 million per day. Till October 2, over 42.89 million passengers were undertaken by the railways, which were about 4.46 million more than that in the last year with 11.6% growth.

 

In order to ensure the safety and the order of the railway transportation, the railways departments enhance the strength on firefighting, exploration, and safety security inspections and check key places and points carefully. Meanwhile, the issues of the security checking were well undertaken to confirm all the dangerous cargos were exempt from the entrance. What’s more, comprehensive management and criminal prevention were handled to ensure the passengers’ safety.

 

In order to resolve the difficulties encountered by the travelers in a timely manner during the trip, railway departments presented their service hotline numbers on the website and media, so that passengers can call them in emergency.
