Linwu County of Chenzhou city embraces with a new breakthrough in the development of cultural and tourism industry by the method of boosting the development of tourism with cultural soft power. From October 15-16, Zhou Yingchun- member of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and the Minister of Chenzhou Municipal Propaganda Ministry led a team with the principals of Chenzhou New SMG Group and Chenzhou Tourism Bureau to investigate the culture and tourism industry in Linwu County.

Nuo opera is the most unique cultural brand of Linwu County, cultural accumulation and inheritance forthousands of years. On October 15, 2012 afternoon, Zhou Yingchun and her team firstly visited Youwan village which is a most important window for Linwu county’s Nuo opera. Lately, "China • Linwu Nuo cultural performance and international symposium” was successfully held there. Nuo culture experts from more than 20 countries gathered here to communicate with each other on the performance skills and the development of Nuo opera. 2 million yuan has been invested to the construction of Linwu Nuo opera base in Youwan village. This project would greatly help to discover and collect more Nuo culture and assist in its declaration of national intangible cultural heritages.

On the basis of the prosperity of culture, Linwu County achieved a new breakthrough on the tourism development. 1 billion yuan has been invested on the “six major parks, four gardens, three squares, two green belts” recently. Meanwhile, the “green oxygen bar”- Xiyaolvgu National Forest Park is accelerating its speed on the construction of tourism channel, guardrail, scenic spot boards and other hardware facilities to forge more characteristic culture and attract more tourists.

During the visit, Zhou Yingchun highly affirmed Linwu County’s improvement on the culture and tourism industry. Zhou required that the county should forge its tourism brand on the basis of its features, take full advantage of Nuo opera to discover more tourism resources, and make better combination of tourism development and culture to promote the local economy improvement and expand its influence.
