Guidong county of Chenzhou city is located in the south section of Luoxiao Mountain which is the second largest bird channel for migratory birds to migrate southward. This channel is about 30kms wide and 40kms long.

In recent years, Guidong County has paid more attention to the protection work of migratory birds during the southward migration period. To ensure migratory birds can safely migrate to the south of China, Guidong county government held a special conference concerning the protection work. According to the conference arrangement, the protection propaganda work of migratory birds should be carried out in downtowns, markets, vital traffic lines, and villages. Special actions should be organized in key migratory bird channels to deal with illegal behaviors and solve some potential risks towards bird migration. Till now, Guidong County has achieved gorgeous results on the protection of migratory birds and most of the citizens are fully aware of bird protection.
