400 Fine Works Presented on 1st Chenzhou Arts and Crafts Show

On November 16, 2012, the 1st Chenzhou Arts and Crafts Show was opened. 400 fine works were shown, like gold and silver articles, fireworks, stone carving, wood carving, bamboo carving, knit, ceramics, folk crafts, embroidery, craft calligraphies and paintings, etc..

“Gold Tianhuang Stone” which was worked out by Hunan crafts master You Jiehui, was specially invited to the exhibition. It no doubt became the highlight of the show. Tianhuang stone is originated from Fujian Shoushan mountain which is also known as “Fushoutian”, which indicates a blessing, meaning that the country is prosperous and the people are at peace. Because of the special feature, it gained much praise from Qianlong emperor and its fame has been kept till now. It is a rare stone now.

A paper-cut work edited with the story of rural movie projectionist- Ma Gongzhi was also shown in the exhibition. With the layers of paper-cut engineering, the cutter presented the audience with a vivid image of this party representative. The above picture was taken while Zhou Yingchun- Minister of Chenzhou Propaganda Ministry was enjoying this paper-cut work.

Cravings which is a kind of sculpture art with the expressional gimmick as “70% natural state and 30% sculpture” was originated from Fujian province. By this kind of expressional way, it is fully kept the original shape of the sculpture material. Now it is one of main factions of south Hunan sculpture art.

 

At the meantime, 21 crafts investment attraction projects were promoted in the exhibition. With the efforts of staffs, 8 intention signing contracts were reached there and the on-site signing contracts concerned for crafts real estate development, crafts works production and processing and others were amounted with 3 billion yuan value.
Some Hunan provincial leaders and Chenzhou municipal leaders attended relative activities.
