When reporters visited Suxian Lake Park on December 19, 2012, workers were busy in planting seedlings there. Wang Aiguo- member of Chenzhou Municipal CPPCC said gladly to the reporters: “Chenzhou city now becomes greener and smarter than ever before with the higher standards, more scientific greening plans and environmental protection measures.”

In the first session of forth Chenzhou Municipal CPPCC, concerning the problems on greening project, some members raised the proposal of “constructing ecological Chenzhou by handling great afforestation work” with some feasible comments and suggestions. Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Chenzhou Government paid highly attention to the proposal by allocating specified working measures on greening project assessment, reward and punishment. Chenzhou Forestry Bureau, City Management Bureau, Administrative Enforcement Bureau, Finance Bureau and some other relative departments played their roles well to cooperate with the implementation of greening projects.

It was learned that in the first half of this year 0.70 million mu barren hills and wasteland afforestation had been completed, accounting for 140% of the scheduled tasks; 3909.9kms greening channels had been fulfilled, accounting for 191.25% of tasks; 545.6kms water system greening mileage had been ended, accounting for 102.9% tasks; 9248.5mu rural area greening work had been finished with 4.11 million pieces of seedlings and 23149.6mu urban area greening work had been handled with 7.225 million pieces of seedlings. Now the winter afforestation work is being well carried out in Chenzhou city.
