Upgrading the exit section water quality to be upper surface water Class III standard

A special meeting was held recently to arrange the work on environmental pollution control of Dongjiang river Suxian section (Cuijiang river). More than 130 units concerned for the issue attended the meeting. Some of the delegates from the units delivered their speeches there and expressed their determination to handle the environmental pollution control work well to upgrade Chenzhou city’s environmental condition and to promote Chenzhou city’s construction of “ecological Chenzhou, beautiful Chenzhou”. Some municipal leaders of Chenzhou city were present at the meeting.

According to the diagnostic investigation of water environment pollution in this section carried out in this January, 6 exit sections of all the eight ones exceeded the water quality standards. The reason caused such situation was that too many high pollution enterprises as mining selection, smelting, chemical, etc. which were lack of sewage disposal facilities along the river section established along the river.

Followed by the pollution control schedule figured out of Chenzhou government, all the illegal enterprises along Chenjiang river, Donghe river, Xihe river and Dongjiang river Suxian section (Cuijiang river) would be prohibited in 2013; five exit sections would be upgraded to keep above the surface water Class III standards while Liangjiawan’s would meet surface water Class Ⅳ standards in 2014; all the rivers water quality would be with surface water Class III standards in 2015; the urban sewage treatment rate would be more than 80% with approval in 2016. Once all the projects fulfilled, a clear river condition would be recovered in Chenzhou city.
