It was learned from Guangzhou Railway Group that a new timetable of train would be released and operated from July 1, 2013. According to the new timetable, T264 from Guangzhou to Lhasa and T266 from Lhasa to Guangzhou would stop in Chenzhou city. So, from this July, it is available for Chenzhou people to take the train from Chenzhou stop directly to visit Tibet.
There was a saying: “it is easier to visit abroad than Tibet”. The key reason for this saying was for the dangerous road condition and no train available. If tourists wanted to visit Tibet from Chenzhou city, they had to take train or plane to Guangzhou or Changsha first and then transferred there to Tibet by train or plane. Such complicated traffic condition and high cost for transportation usually hindered the tourists’ way to go to Tibet from Chenzhou city.
It was introduced that it took about 51 hours by T264 from Chenzhou to Lhasa. Qinghai lake, Kunlun mountain, Hoh Xil, Three rivers, northern Tibet grassland, the Potala Palace and other famous scenic spots were on the way to Tibet. The visitors could enjoy all the beauties in the train.
Reminded by the staff of Chenzhou station that T264 and T266 were with limited ticket vacancies, it was better to book the ticket online in advance.
It was estimated by the insiders that due to the train would be stopped in Chenzhou station, more Chenzhou people would choose the travel line to Tibet, which would help to expand the tourism industry of Chenzhou city accordingly.
