It was learned from Chenzhou Municipal Create Office that the voting activity for “eight scenes of Chenzhou city” has been launched recently. It was purposely to stimulate Chenzhou people’s enthusiasm on the concern of Chenzhou city’s beautiful sceneries and being civilized citizens by holding this activity.

Eight hundred years ago, “eight scenes of Chenzhou city” had been selected out. With the praises of some great masters of Chinese literature, these eight scenes were pursued by many descendants, which granted the “eight scenes of Chenzhou city” with profound cultural history.

However, along with the changes and progresses of society, some of the aged “eight scenes of Chenzhou city” were damaged by natural or human factors. At the meantime, along with the construction and improvement of Chenzhou city, some new sceneries were available in Chenzhou city, which may be better for representing Chenzhou city’s new image. So, it was a suitable time for selecting out the new eight scenes of Chenzhou city.

This “eight scenes of Chenzhou city” was for the central urban area’s sceneries which should be named with four Chinese characters at first for selection. Once it was selected for voting, brief introduction of the scene’s image and historical background, some photographs, poems or other literature works for the expression of the beauty of the scene, etc. should be submitted together to the activity organization committee.

All the staffs of the activity organization committee would collect all the scenes information from this July to the end of September and send to medias for further propaganda. 12 selected scenes would be evaluated by the experts of the activity organization committee for key propaganda. Final new “eight scenes of Chenzhou city”list would be released in this November.
