Opening ceremony

Opening ceremony of the 13th watermelon festival of Chenzhou Wanhuayan was held on July 10, 2013. As one of the featured festivals in Chenzhou city, this watermelon festival attracted thousands tourists nationwide.

It was introduced that this watermelon festival was launched from 2000 annually. It was purposely to propaganda local tourism resources and forge watermelon brand of Wanhuayan. At the meantime, this kind of festival was helped to make Chenzhou city more popular and promote the development of rural and tourism economy.

According to the time schedule, this festival would be last for 4 days. Tourist can attended different activities as mysterious hole tour, water splashing, watermelon game, beer game, lottery, etc.. Especially for the famous “yellow duck”’s presentation, many tourists were gathered there to enjoy the festival.

Li Xiping- Deputy Director of Chenzhou Municipal People’s Congress announced the opening of this festival. Li Xuelian- Vice Chairman of Chenzhou Municipal CPPCC delivered a speech on the opening ceremony. Some municipal leaders of Chenzhou city attended the opening ceremony.
