The first “Dongjiang lake” international folk music festival was held in Dongjiang Cultural Square of Zixing city on September 12, 2013

In the evening of September 12, 2013, over ten thousand people gathered in Dongjiang Cultural Square of Zixing city to watch the opening ceremony of first “Dongjiang lake” international folk music festival. This festival was with the theme “enjoying folk music, drinking Dongjiang lake beer, traveling Dongjiang lake”.

The first “Dongjiang lake” international folk music festival was one of the relative activities for 2013 Chenzhou international leisure tourism festival. It was purposely to introduce the international folk culture and arts to Chenzhou people and promote Dongjiang lake’s beautiful travel resources to worldwide, which would be helpful to popularize the fame of Chenzhou city to attract more tourists and investors there.

It was introduced by some staffs of organization committee of this folk music festival that this festival was sponsored by Zixing Government and Chenzhou Tourism Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs, and undertaken by Hunan Tianhan Cultural Media Company, Hunan Dongjiang Lake Tourism Development Co., Ltd. and Chenzhou Wulianguan Travel Agency. This festival would last for four days from September 12 to 15, 2013. The performance troupes from France, Canada, Indonesia, People’s Republic of Korea, Thailand, etc. would present their excellent shows every night during this festival. Audience could enjoy themselves of different cultural performances on this festival.

Li Jing- one of the citizens of Zixing city- said gladly to the reporters after watching the opening ceremony that it was really a nice show that we can enjoy international songs and dances locally. Some actors from international performance troupes were good at speaking Chinese. They could not help stop to expressing their exciting feelings to enjoy such beautiful sceneries of foggy small Dongjiang river. Besides the daily performance during the festival, they would travel around Dongjiang lake as well.

Some honor guests and municipal leaders of Chenzhou city attended the opening ceremony.
