The opening ceremony of 2013 China Chenzhou International Leisure Tourism and Culture Festival was held in Guiyang county in the morning of September 16, 2013. It was reported that this festival would last for about half month. 27 characteristic tourism activities would be held in 11 counties and county-level cities of Chenzhou city at the same time. All the travelers would enjoy an excellent trip to Chenzhou city during this period.

Some honored guests were invited to attend this opening ceremony. Wang Keying- former Director of Hunan Provincial CPPCC announced the formal opening of this festival. Tao Qingfa- Deputy Director of Geological Environment Department of Ministry of Land and Resources awarded for Hunan Baoshan National Mine Park and announced its formal opening. Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee delivered a speech on the ceremony. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City hosted the ceremony.

This festival was focused on promotion of mining tourism and hot spring tourism. Series activities as Guiyang mining cultural trip, tent festival on mine cliff, hiking along ancient horse trails, etc. were parts of characteristic events held in the festival.

In recent year, tourism industry was highly improved by Chenzhou city. It was purposely to forge a leisure tourism destination in south China. Ecological leisure, drift, blessing culture, hot spring, red culture, mining and other unique featured tourism culture were formed in Chenzhou city, which greatly helped to promote its tourism development.

Liu Zhimin- Deputy Secretary of Party Group and Deputy Director of Hunan Provincial Tourism Bureau said that China Chenzhou international tourism and culture festival was an important part of China Hunan tourism festival. With the government’s efforts, it was promoted to be a high level and famous tourism brand in China. More colorful events and unique forms were applied in this festival to promote the improvement of Chenzhou city and Guiyang county. By successfully holding such kind of international level tourism festival, Chenzhou city’s tourism industry would be upgraded to a higher level.

Liu also promised to place more support for the further improvement of Chenzhou’s tourism industry and expressed his wishes that Chenzhou city would contribute more to the upgrading of Hunan province’s tourism industry with its unique location advantages.

Xiang Lili warmly welcomed the honored guests to attend this festival. Xiang said, this annual international leisure tourism and culture festival was an important measure for Chenzhou city to implement the international development strategy, develop international leisure tourism and upgrade Chenzhou city’s quality and competitiveness. All the guests can enjoy “city in forest, leisure city”’s charm during this festival every year.

Xiang expressed his confidence for the charm of Chenzhou city’s historical culture and ecological resources. Famous tourism landscapes, livable ecological condition, abundant hot spring resources and other advantages were available in Chenzhou city, all the tourists who have different favorable taste of tourism can find their favorite ones in Chenzhou city.

Xiang Lili stated that leisure was one the international tourism trend. Chenzhou city followed this trend to promote the tourism industry accordingly and try to establish the worldwide famous leisure tourism brand with sound comprehensive ecological condition. Because of the convenient transportation condition, the economical development of Chenzhou city would be improved simultaneously with the tourism development, and the tourism facilities would be upgraded accordingly with the economical development. “City in the forest, leisure city”- the key brand and image of Chenzhou city would be fully upgraded as well.
